When summer is just around the corner, people will start getting obsessed with losing weight. Everyone wants a beach body to show off. Everybody wants that perfect Instagram shot at the beach where they can flaunt their summer body. There are a lot of ways to lose that few extra pounds!
Watch What You Eat
As the saying goes, it’s 80% diet, 20% exercise. Watching what you eat and keeping healthy eating habits is significant for your losing weight. Eating healthy can sometimes be a challenge for some people for different reasons. Some are too busy to do meal prep, that they usually end up eating outside and what’s readily available around their office, and those food tend to have so many calories. Some are at a loss on what to do and what to prepare. However, there are a lot of programs out there that can really help you.
Try Intermittent Fasting
This has become really popular. Intermittent fasting or IF is an eating practice where you are only allowed to eat within a window hour. It doesn’t tell you specifically what to eat, rather when you’re allowed to eat it. Common fasting practice is 16:8, where you fast for 16 hours, and you can eat within 8 hours.
An example is you start your day at 7 am, then following that up by lunch and a light snack; you have to be done eating by 3 pm. And this cycle goes on. You can usually see results after a month or two. Take note that this doesn’t allow you to overeat within that allotted window hours. You should still watch what you eat.
Work Out
Exercise is essential to a person’s health and well-being. Sweating those calories off is surely effective, but you have to make sure that you’re burning more calories than what you’re consuming. Working out is one of the best ways to lose weight effectively, because not only do you shed those extra fats, you also get a nice form, and it’s good for your heart. Even if you are not trying to lose weight, working out should be part of your routine. It doesn’t even have to be a rigorous workout. Being active with suffice, like maybe walking that short distance on your way home, or taking the stairs rather than the lift.
Skip the Sugar
Studies have shown that sugar links to obesity. Drinks that are high in sugar, such as sodas, unnatural juices, and caramel coffee drinks have a lot of calories and have empty nutrients, so you’re not doing yourself any favor by drinking this every day. Water is still the best choice, especially when you’re trying to lose weight. And as for desserts, switch those with fruits. Remember that it’s okay to indulge once in a while, don’t deprive yourself, but don’t overeat. Everything in moderation!
There are a lot of fad diets that come out every time, and we normally cannot stick to it. There are also a lot of medicines or juices that claim to aid weight loss, which is sometimes bad for your health and can mess up with your metabolism. The best way to approach weight loss is to still have a healthy lifestyle, which has been proven and recommended all the time.
